Sidewalk Cafe

The Project:

Brooklyn Whiskers hired us to fabricate outdoor seating areas for both of their locations. I worked with the client to design all three of the builds. Two builds were the outdoor seating areas and the third was a structure for the walk-up window at the Greenpoint location. I designed all three and created build drawings for the metal department. I oversaw the build, kept the client informed of the progress while researching material for the skin which was a 5/8” clear corrugated plastic (Lexan). We added windows for cross breeze and other hardware as well a levelers and mounting bracket to fix the structures in place.

We designed these as manageable-sized panels with through-bolt assembly and spanning headers that tied the walls together. The roof panel through-bolted as we to complete the final structure. We also added the mandatory wooden barricade boxes for city requirements.
