Keeping a Product Line Alive

This was a side project for SFDS, which designed and sold gummy bear-shaped night lights. When the person originally producing the parts stopped working with the company, SFDS needed a way to keep manufacturing them.

The fix was a redesign: taking the original part, making a series of fixes, and moving production from casting to 3D printing. From there, an invoicing process was set up so the parts could be produced and sold as needed. Battery harnesses were sourced, and the first few units were wired up by hand as a proof of concept before the assembly was handed off to the electronics department — at which point the process ran on its own.
