Assembly Instructions Included…
Giving A Little Extra
After moving back to New York from Seattle, I had accumulated some things that were becoming cumbersome to keep around.
But first, let’s go back a little further in time…
When I bought my house and shop outside of Tacoma, my friend Mike bought me an old bow-saw as a house-warming, good-luck charm. It was the though that meant a lot to me and its why that saw traveled with the rest of my belongings all the way back to my New York storage unit.
Fast forward to a year later…
Now I lived in a city where space was very limited and storage got more and more expensive with tha passing of time. When I did the math, I found I could have bought everything that was in storage twice and it became apparent that some thing had to change, the storage unit had to go. I would have to get rid of the beloved bow-saw.
So I sold it online, took it apart to pack it for shipping.
After that I thought, why not practice creating assembly instructions on fusion.
This brought me to drawing the parts of the saw, assembling it in the design program and creating an assembly drawing for the buyer of the saw.
The added benefit for me was the practice of building the saw from scratch and navigating the assembly process to create a useful product.
