Holiday Time Capsule
Designed and fabricated for a client at SFDS, this piece was built as a raffle capsule for a holiday event where the client was giving out gifts.
The form combines two plexiglass hemispheres with a straight center section of plexiglass, joined by CNC-cut MDF parts machined to fit the plexi pieces together into the finished capsule shape. The whole assembly sits on a speed rail base, with everything finished in paint.
Functionally, the piece was built to work the room: a slot cut into the top of the straight plexi section let guests drop in their raffle tickets, while a sliding door at the bottom allowed for easy removal of the tickets when it was time to draw.
