Hardware Design For Uncommon Needs

This was a fun project that involved creating a life-sized model car sprue set out of a Tucker Model. We used various materials to create the car parts. Bumpers, wheels, trim parts, etc. These parts were all going to mount to a steel frame with square rod offsets. When we started thinking of how these parts would connect to the sprue framework, there was a lot of conversation that centered around hardware that could be purchased and there really didn’t seem to ba anything that we were fining that would really work out. As I was looking at it, I thought to myself that there should be a bit of hardware that could mount into the materials that made up the parts and then onto the square rod that was to be welded to the frame. I brought the idea to my boss, worked up a quick design and we reviewed the images. I told him i would be willing to print these on my personal printer, we worked out an arrangement for compensation and the rest is history, I printed up a bunch of parts and we fused them into the parts and then onto the frame. I was an easy fix for a piece of hardware that didn’t exist up until then.
